Two Injured Highway 17 Accident

An accident south of Maysville, Onslow County injured two people and closed Highway 17 near Belgrade Extension Road for awhile Friday night.

The crash happened around 6:30 pm and involved a pickup and a Cadillac.

Troopers say the driver of the truck, 52-year-old Deborah Pendley, is charged with DWI and reckless driving after she ran a stop sign and was hit by a Cadillac.

Pendley and the passenger in the Cadillac, 62 year old Annie Thompson, were taken to the hospital with what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries.
