Two years ago today a Carteret County man was murdered and his family is still holding out hope that someone will come forward and help solve the case.

Johnny Salter was found shot to death back on December 11, 2010 in the living room of his home on Ross Lane in Atlantic. For the family, especially his 18-year-old son, it's another Christmas without him and without closure.

Deputies say they have a suspect in the homicide, but there's not enough evidence to charge the person. The Governor's Office is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in Salter's murder.

If you have information, you can contact the Carteret County Sheriff's Office at 252-504-4800 or the SBI at 910-346-2121.
