Two Of Three Men Charged With Choking Dog To Death Plead Guilty

Two of three men charged with choking a dog to death with a telephone cord have pleaded guilty.

Pitt County District Attorney Kimberly Robb says Kendrick Fitchett and Demetrius Crumble pleaded guilty as charged to felony cruelty to animals this morning.

Crumble and Fitchett were given a suspended sentence and 24 months of supervised probation. But, as a condition of probation, they must serve 90 days in jail, complete 72 hours of community service and not own an animal during that two year period.

Back in February, the two, along with Evan Harrington, were arrested after deputies found a dead pit-terrier on Carolyn Street, outside of Greenville.

There has been no trial date set for Harrington.
