Two Men Charged With Assault After Incident In Food Lion Parking Lot

Two men have been arrested after investigators say they assaulted a man in the parking lot of a local Food Lion.

After an argument at the Waffle House in James City on July 12, the Craven County Sheriff's Office says 22-year-old Terry Miller and 24-year-old Christopher Hiatt followed another man to a Food Lion parking lot where they assaulted him. Deputies say Miller and Hiatt used boards to assault the man, injuring his face and head.

Hiatt is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. Miller faces the same charge, as well as assault by pointing a gun.

Both men were jailed under a $10,000 bond.
