Two injured sea turtles received special medical attention at an Outer Banks hospital.
Sea turtles Vortex and Aquile checked into the Sentara Kitty Hawk outpatient campus to get a CT scan.
The treatment helps track the progress of the turtles' ongoing recovery.
Vortex's skull was fractured May of last year when he was struck by a propeller. Aquile lost part of her outer shell back in January after she suffered frostbite. That frostbite also left part of Aquile's spine exposed.
Sentara Kitty Hawk officials said both turtles are from the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island.
