Two Airlifted After Serious Accident In Onslow County

State troopers say two people were airlifted to a Wilmington hospital after a serious accident this afternoon in Onslow County.

The crash happened around 12:45 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 258 and Highway 111, north of Jacksonville.

The Highway Patrol says a Mustang was making a left onto Highway 111 and did not yield to an oncoming car. That car, an Impala, smashed into the passenger side of the Mustang, trapping both the driver and passenger.

The two were airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the Impala was taken via ambulance to Onslow Memorial Hospital.

Troopers have yet to release the names of those involved in the accident.
