Turkey Creek Firefighters Demonstrate Dangers Of Deep Frying Turkey

A big fire danger this time of year is deep frying your Thanksgiving turkey.

Turkey Creek volunteer firefighters in Onslow County showed us how deep frying a turkey can go horribly wrong. They plopped a frozen turkey in a pot of boiling oil. Combine those two elements, and its a recipe for disaster.

"Most people get careless with it, not paying attention to what they're doing, and accidents happen," said Turkey Creek Assistant Chief
Stuart Rochelle.

If you are planning to deep fry your turkey, make sure it is thawed out and isn't wet. Also, make sure the oil is not too hot and the deep fryer not too full.
