Tropical Storm Chantal Forms In Central Atlantic

The National Hurricane Center says Tropical Storm Chantal has formed over the central tropical Atlantic and is racing West-Northwestward toward the Lesser Antilles.

Chantal has maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour.

The government of Barbados has issued a tropical storm warning for Barbados and Dominica and a tropical storm watch for St. Vincent.

The WITN Weather Authority team is tracking Chantal's progress and will be watching to see what impacts we may have, if any, and when.
