The second named tropical system of the season became Tropical Storm Barry on Wednesday afternoon. Barry was moving slowly westward Wednesday night and will move into the Mexican coast in the state of Veracruz Thursday morning. Highest sustained winds were 45 mph late Wednesday night with little change expected before landfall on Thursday. The storm will continue to move westward into Mexico and will not impact eastern Carolina.
