A driver has been charged after the Highway Patrol says they crashed into a trooper's patrol car at a Jacksonville intersection.
The Highway Patrol says that the trooper was pulling out of the patrol office located at 305 Wilmington Highway and into the intersection with US 17 around 12:30 a.m. Monday. Officials say a driver heading north on US 17 ran a red light and crashed into the front of the patrol car.
Officials say both the trooper and the driver were taken to an area hospital for minor injuires. We're told the trooper has since been released.
The driver is said by troopers to have been tired or fatigued at the time of the accident. That driver has been charged with a stoplight violation.
