Two people have been charged in a fatal hit and run in the east.
Thirty-nine-year-old Troy Gunter, seen in the mug shot, and 34-year-old Nicole Gunter are charged in the hit and run that killed a man in Wilson County.
Hugh Johnston, 58, was on his moped when he was fatally struck on Highway 42 outside of Wilson early Friday.
The Gunter’s were charged on Sunday.
Troopers say they are looking for a suspect in a fatal hit and run in Wilson County early Friday morning.
Troopers say about 12:15 a.m. Friday 58-year-old Hugh Bolden Johnston IV of NC Hwy 42 in Wilson County was riding a moped on the same highway he lived on and was hit by a car and killed. The driver kept going after hitting Johnston.
The Highway Patrol says the Chrysler sedan shown in the picture is similar to the one Troopers believe to be driven by the suspect. Troopers say the car is silver or silver gray and has severe front end damage. They say it's missing the entire front nose cone, bumper and grill components.
