Update: Troopers: Bertie Co. Pedestrian Faces Charges After He Was Hit By Vehicle

The Highway Patrol says a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle around 9:00 p.m Wednesday night in Bertie County on Farless Road in Merry Hill.

Troopers say the driver doesn't face charges, but the pedestrian does because he was walking with traffic.

Troopers say 23-year-old Kiam Outlaw was taken to Bertie Hospital then later transported to Vidant Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers charged Outlaw with "stand, sit or lie in the roadway" because they say he was wearing dark clothing and walking on the white line with traffic

Troopers say the driver didn't see him and her side mirror hit him.
