A man had to be airlifted after the Highway Patrol says that he lost control of his vehicle due to wet road conditions here in the east.
Troopers say that 24-year-old Demarquan Cotten-Spencer was traveling west on US-264 when he hydroplaned, went left of center, struck a guardrail then went down an embankment before rolling onto the top of his vehicle.
Cotten-Spencer was taken by ambulance to Vidant Beaufort and then airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. Troopers described him as appearing in stable condition.
Cotten-Spencer has been charged with exceeding a safe speed, according to troopers.
