A Wilmington man is in an Eastern Carolina jail after police say they found a sizable amount of drugs in his truck.
Maysville police say they pulled over the pickup truck Thursday morning around 10:40 a.m. Thursday on Highway 17. Originally police were going to cite Thomas Hiatt with driving on a revoked license, but they say they then smelled a strong odor of pot.
Inside they say they found cocaine, heroin, marijuana and four shotguns.
Police say Thomas Hiatt is charged with felony possession, trafficking opiates, felony maintaining a vehicle for criminal solicitation, possessing and manufacturing of heroin, 2 counts of manufacturing, and 2 counts of possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver.
Hiatt's bail is set at $127,000.
