A tractor trailer full of wood mulch overturned in Onslow County, closed one lane of a highway this morning.
The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 53 and Murrill Hill Road around 9:40 a.m.
The tractor trailer turned on its side, while a passenger car was hit.
Trooper Michael Kirk says neither driver was seriously injured. He says there probably would have been more serious injuries if they both had not been wearing their seatbelts.
Kirk says the truck driver, 27-year-old Jonathan Taylor, has been charged with running a red light.
The truck was flipped back over around 11:30 a.m., and crews were able to remove all the debris and reopen the highway around 1:00 p.m.
