Teenager Wounded In Kinston Shooting

A teenager was shot, just two blocks from where another man was shot Sunday night in Kinston.

Public Safety Director Bill Johnson says 19-year-old Dontario Turnage was conscious and alert when taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital. He was shot in the back and later transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

The shooting happened around 4:30 in the vicinity of Dixon Street and Old Snow Hill Road. Investigators are at the shooting scene, and so far there have been no reports of any suspects arrested.

In the shooting Sunday night, Keith Williams was hit in the back and wrist by gunfire as he was fixing the chain on his bicycle on Stadiem Drive.
