UPDATE: Teen Identified In Fatal Rocky Mount Shooting


Rocky Mount Police have identified the teenager shot and killed early Saturday morning.

Officials say that 15-year-old Brian Freeman was shot and killed early Saturday morning.

The Associated Press reports that Freeman was shot by someone in a passing car while walking down the street with a friend.

The Rocky Mount Police Department urges anyone with any information in this case to please call the Rocky Mount Police Department at 252-972-1411. Persons may also call Twin County Crime Stoppers at 252-977-1111 or use the Text-a-Tip program by sending your text to RMPOL and your message to CRIMES.

A teenager is dead after police in Rocky Mount say they responded to reports of shots fired.

Rocky Mount Police say that they responded to the area of East Highland Avenue around 12:06 a.m. on Saturday. Officials say they found the 15-year-old victim in the 700 block of East Highland Avenue.

Officials say that teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers and detectives are currently investigating the case.
