A teenager has been charged in an attempted armed robbery and shooting that happened overnight, and police are still searching for two more people involved.
Greenville police say it happened around 12:15 a.m. on Peed Drive.
Victims told officers that a person knocked on their door, giving the name of someone they know. When they opened the door, three men came into the apartment, with at least two of them armed with handguns.
Police say they tried to rob both occupants, but ran before anything was taken. While leaving, one of the gunman turned and fired at the apartment.
Officers were already in the area, and heard the shots. They stopped a suspect vehicle and arrested 18-year-old Nytravian Parker.
Parker is charged with two counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, and two counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling. He was jailed on a $501,000 bond.
Anyone who has information on the other two people involved is asked to call the Greenville Police Department (252) 329-4315 or Crime Stoppers (252) 758-7777.
