Two charged after teacher and student cut at J.H. Rose High School

A teacher and a student were cut this morning at J.H. Rose High School.

Greenville police say it happened around 8:45 a.m. when two students got into a fight in a classroom.

Police say a teacher tried to break up the fight, but one of the girls involved pulled out a knife. The teacher and the other girl received minor cuts and neither was transported to the hospital, according to police.

Several other teachers and a school resource officer came to the teacher's aid, while both students were arrested.

The 15-year-old has been charged with assault inflicting serious injury, assault on a school teacher, having a weapon on education property and disorderly conduct. She was taken to the juvenile detention center.

Shanequa Brown, 17, was charged with disorderly conduct.
