TROOPERS: No Seat Belts; Teens Airlifted From Crash

Three teens were airlifted to a Wilmington hospital last night after what troopers believed is an alcohol-related accident. All three were thrown from the wreckage.

The wreck happened on Highway 12 on Cedar Island in Carteret County. The Highway Patrol says Keegan Robinson, 17, of Atlantic Beach was driving the pickup when it went off the road and rolled over.

Two 16-year-old passengers, William Brittingham and Kyle Nelson, both of Cedar Island were injured. Troopers say none of the teens were wearing seat belts.

The Highway Patrol says charges are pending in the accident.
