TROOPERS: Rain Likely Caused Pitt County Rollover Crash

The Highway Patrol says heavy rain played a factor in an afternoon crash where a car ended up on its top in Pitt County.

The single-vehicle accident happened around 1:45 p.m. on the U.S. 264 Bypass, at the Highway 43 exit.

Troopers say it is likely the 4-door Honda hydroplaned, causing it to flip over, and land on its top.

The driver of the car was taken to Vidant Medical Center. There is no word yet on their condition.
