A Richlands man is dead after a traffic accident late yesterday afternoon in Onslow County.
The Highway Patrol says alcohol is suspected in the 4:50 p.m. crash at the intersection of Fowler Manning Road and Gregory Fork Road, south of Richlands.
Dead is 35-year-old Johnny Ayala.
Troopers say Ayala was on Fowler Manning Road and made a left turn onto Gregory Fork Road, in the path of a southbound 18-wheeler.
Ayala's vehicle ended up striking a third vehicle that was northbound. Troopers say no one else was injured in the accident.
