Dare County says Highway 12 in the southern end of the county is open again to traffic.

Deputies said part of NC 12 was closed in Dare County Friday morning, even after the strong winds passed over Eastern Carolina.
Deputies said NC 12 at Mirlo Beach would be closed until further notice.
Deputies said ocean overwash and stalled cars prompted the closing.
The NCDOT said the roads would be closed in both directions along the highway just south of Rodanthe until the water recedes.
