TEACHER OF THE WEEK: Paula Ruark-Williams, From Northeast Elementary

Paula Ruark-Williams is the “Teacher of the Week!”

She is a teacher at Northeast Elementary in Beaufort County.

Paula is dedicated to her students. For example, following Hurricane Irene in 2011, Paula helped her students and their families get support following damage from the storm. Each year, she helps to bring Christmas to children and their families who can’t afford one, working with St. James Episcopal Church in Belhaven, as well as the Belhaven-Pantego Rotary Club.

Paula is a native of Belhaven and a graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree.

She has worked at Northeast Elementary School for 22 years.
