Police: K9 Tracks Down Armed Robbery Suspect

We have an update for you on an armed robbery arrest in Greenville.

Police have arrested 17 year old Kumetrius Friason after the incident at the Wilco-Hess station Saturday night. He is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, 2nd degree kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a felon and possessing a weapon of mass destruction.

Friason was booked in the Pitt County detention center overnight with bond set at $750,000. Friason's past criminal history includes armed robbery.

Police say K9 Patton found the suspect hiding in the woods near a landscaping business, north of the gas station. Police say the suspect didn't stop, but Patton chased him across Greene St. eventually getting the suspect into police custody.

K9 Patton and his handler, Officer Chad Bowen, discovered a gun and stolen money upon doing an evidence search, according to police.
According to the Greenville Police Department, a suspect is in custody for an attempted armed robbery at the Trade Mart gas station on N. Greene St.

The incident happened after 8:00 p.m. Saturday.
