On and off quick downpours will be possible through Sunday afternoon. Heavier rain could bring another 1 to 3 inches of rain to a few locations late Sunday and into Monday afternoon.
A cold front pushed through eastern Carolina Wednesday evening, followed by much drier air. Skies will be sunny on Thursday, with afternoon highs reaching the middle 80s, with lower 80s along the beaches. Mostly sunny skies will continue on Friday with highs again in the middle 80s.
The weekend will see increasing relative humidity levels and highs in the middle to upper 80s. A stray thunderstorm will be possible each afternoon and early evening but most of the area should see plenty of sunshine.
