Eastern Carolina will be back into a typical August pattern with the heat and humidity returning through the holiday weekend. Tailgaters should be prepared for a heat index in the mid 90s between 2pm and 5pm. Actual temperatures will be in the upper 80s. A few showers will be possible Saturday afternoon but a large portion of the area will remain dry as most of the showers should set up near the coast.
Muggy conditions will persist through the game Saturday night. Temperatures at kickoff will be in the 80s and only cool to the mid 70s by the end of the 4th quarter.
The hot and muggy pattern will likely stick around through next week with better chances at afternoon storms by early to mid week.
