Dupiln, Greene, Lenoir, Martin and Pitt counties will be under a freezing rain advisory from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday. Beaufort, Craven, Jones and Washington counties will be under the advisory from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m.
A warm southwesterly flow will bring above normal temperatures to eastern Carolina on Friday. Afternoon highs will reach the middle 80s except middle to upper 70s on the beaches. Skies will remain mostly sunny through the day. A stray storm could develop late Friday evening but otherwise the day will be dry. A few showers and possible thunderstorms will move into eastern Carolina on Saturday as a cold front approaches the area. The front will push offshore early on Mother's Day followed by clearing skies later in the day. Highs on Saturday will reach the lower 80s with upper 70s Sunday afternoon.
