Scattered showers and storms will develop on Thursday across Eastern Carolina as a cold front slips southward through the region. The southern half of the area will have the highest risk for thunderstorms as temperatures reach the lower 80s. The northern half of the area will be near 80 during the afternoon, with lower to middle 70s on the Outer Banks.
The front will continue to move southward with all shower activity coming to an end by Friday evening. Mainly sunny skies can be expected over the weekend. Temperatures will reach the upper 70s Friday then warm into the lower 80s both Saturday and Sunday.
