A warm and moisture laden atmosphere will be dotted with showers this afternoon. The best chance of rain will come between now and sunset with south to north movement.. These will be brief showers with no severe weather threat, rainfall totals will come in below half of an inch. Highs today will be slightly cooler than Saturday in the mid 80s, but the humidity will push the heat index into the low 90s.
A cold front will continue to press east and pass through the area tomorrow afternoon. Heavier and more coverage of storms will be in the forecast on Monday after about 2pm.
The remnants of Tropical Storm Karen are not expected to move north towards eastern North Carolina like previous tracks indicated.
