Sunshine and a light southerly wind will push temperatures into the lower 90s across much of eastern Carolina on Tuesday. Any isolated afternoon storm activity is expected to remain near or west of Interstate 95. A slightly better chance for afternoon storms will develop Wednesday as temperatures reach the middle 90s inland and upper 80s on the beaches. Heat indices could hit 100 degrees in many locations by Wednesday afternoon.
Thursday and Friday weather will be dependent on the moisture from a potential tropical system off the Southeast coast. The system will be near our coast Friday morning then move rapidly away from the area by late afternoon. Sunny and warm conditions are expected for the weekend.
