Substitute Teacher Fired After Arrest For Stealing Thousands From School P.T.O.

A substitute teacher and bus driver has been fired after being accused of stealing thousands of dollars from a Parent Teacher Organization fund at her school.

Beaulaville police today charged Donna Godbold with embezzlement, financial card fraud, and obtaining property under false pretense.

Police Chief Joey Carter says Godbold is accused of using the credit card from the Beulaville Elementary School's P.T.O. to purchase items for herself. He says the woman stole just under $7,000 between April of last year and this April.

Godbold was freed after posting a $25,000 bond.

Godbold, who has worked for the school system since September 2009, was fired today from her job.
