A high school student has been charged with making a bomb threat to schools in Chowan County Tuesday night.
Chowan County deputies say the call was made to 911 around 7:00 p.m.
After a search warrant, they arrested 16-year-old Christopher Freeman of Edenton, who is a John A. Holmes High School student.
Deputies say they do not believe Freeman is connected to threats made that caused schools to be closed on Monday.
Freeman is charged with making a false report of mass violence on educational property and he's jailed on a $10,000 bond.
Deputies say as a precaution, they will have extra officers in and around the schools.
