Storm Damage From Likely Tornado In Chicod in Pitt County

Update: National Weather Service storm teams surveying storm damage in Chicod Saturday morning.

The teams set out at 8am to determine whether or not an actual tornado hit the area in Pitt County. WITN Meteorologist  Matt Engelbrecht was in the Chicod area of Pitt County Friday and reported storm damage from a likely tornado.

There are some overturned vehicles and homes that are damaged.

The Pitt County Sheriff's Office tells us three mobile homes have been damaged as well as a barn.

The damage is on Blackjack-Simpson Road.

At this time there are no reports of any injuries.
