A Pitt County couple is now behind bars after a three month investigation into the sale of prescription pain meds.
Pitt County deputies on Monday arrested Walter and Joann Bullock of Highway 30 in Stokes after a search of their home.
Deputies say they've been investigating the couple for the past three months.
During a search detectives found more than 600 oxycodone pills, $20,000 in cash, 12 ounces of marijuana and approximately 30 guns. Deputies say they seized the firearms because the man is a convicted felon.
The two were charged with trafficking opiates by possession, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, and maintaining a residence for the storage and use of controlled substances.
The couple is being held on bonds of $250,000 each.
The Martin County Sheriff's Office and Williamston police assisted with the search and more charges are pending.
