A winter weather advisory has been issued for all of eastern Carolina except Carteret, Onslow, and Duplin counties from 6pm Thursday through 4am Friday. Light freezing rain and sleet will be possible.
The fog responsible for school delays in Tyrrell county has lifted revealing a few clouds and plenty of sun. The increase in sunshine will boost temperatures into the upper 70s by the afternoon. A cold front will push through the area by early Friday and could produce some isolated showers overnight. Any showers will end early Friday followed by sunshine with highs in the middle 70s.
A dipping jet stream will fuel more shower activity this weekend. Rainfall totals will be less than 0.50". Clearing and cool conditions will follow the front on Sunday afternoon.
