POLICE: Soldier Arrested In Ayden After Making Threats

Police say a local soldier was arrested after making threats to people in several counties.

Ayden Police Chief Barry Stanley says Craig Lang had threatened people with a gun who live near his girlfriend in Harnett County. They say he returned to Pitt County where he threatened to kill his ex-wife and himself.

Stanley says they encountered the 23-year-old man at his parent's home on Toyota Drive. They thought was heavily armed, but only one gun was found at a neighbor's house.

The chief says Lang just returned from his third deployment with the Army in Iraq.

He is charged with assault by pointing a gun, domestic protective order violation and being a fugitive. Lang is being held on a $3,000 bond.
