Simpson Swears In New Police Chief

The village of Simpson once again has a police chief.

Robert Voliva was hired and sworn in today. He replaces John Waters who has been off work since an August traffic accident totaled the village's only police cruiser.

Mayor David Boyd says Voliva is a former Beaufort County deputy sheriff and will make $35,000 a year.

Waters was injured in the August crash, the second accident he was in this past summer.
