More acts of gun violence persist as shots were fired at another home in Kinston early Thursday morning.
Kinston Public Safety Commander R.G. Russell said the initial report came in around 1:45 a.m. Thursday from 523 Greenmead Drive.
The home is within walking distance of Kinston High School.
Two people were home at the time, Russell said, when glass shattered from bullets whizzing through a window.
The house does have some damage from the bullets, including a broken window, but no one was injured, according to Russell.
This is the 27th shooting case in Kinston so far this year. Just last week, three homes in Kinston were struck by gunfire.
Last Tuesday, bullets struck a home on Perry Park Drive. The following day, shots were fired at two homes on Northview Drive.
There is no word on whether these cases are connected.
Police are investigating the latest shooting.
