Daycare Center Destroyed In Morning Fire

A daycare center was destroyed by a fire this morning in Princeville.

Multiple fire departments responded to Angels Of Faith Childcare Center on King Avenue.

The center was gutted by the fire, but fortunately no injuries were reported.

Owner Vera Staton says she's been running the daycare center out of her home for the past three years. None of the children were there when the fire started at 5:30 a.m., but she and her husband, along with their two young grandchildren, were inside and managed to escape.

She says the fire started in the daycare area, but their attached home has too much smoke damage for them to stay there.

Fire crews say they don't yet know what started the blaze, but it is not being investigated as an arson.
