UPDATE: Owner Describes Attempted Sweepstakes Robbery

The owner of the Purple Haze Internet Café at 4393 South Charles Blvd. described the tense moments involving him and what he believes was an attempted robbery suspect.

Owner Josh Bohling tells WITN that he had just taken the trash out Saturday night when he was approached from behind by a man. Bohling says the suspect told him to go back inside the business. Bohling says he turned and swung the side of his arm at the suspect, who stepped back and appeared to start fumbling for what Bohling thought was a weapon. The owner says when the suspect started fumbling he rushed the man who we’re told turned and ran from the scene down nearby David Drive.

The Sheriff’s Office says it was out searching the area around the business following the incident.

The suspect is described as being a black male between 5 foot 10 and 6 foot tall, weighing around 170 pounds.
