The storm prediction center has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 10pm for Northeastern North Carolina. Thunderstorms have developed over Northern North Carolina and will move northward. Strong gusty winds and hail are possible with any thunderstorm which forms. Frequent lightning and heavy rain will accompany these scattered storms. Much of Eastern North Carolina is not in this watch, but a few scattered thunderstorms are still possible into the evening hours. The coast has the lowest chance of a storm.
