Several People Hurt Following Three-Vehicle Crash In Jones County

Several people are injured following a three-vehicle crash in Jones County.

Crews were on the scene as of 1:30 p.m. Friday.

The crash happened on Highway 17 near Killis Murphy Road north of Pollocksville.

Lawmen say the first vehicle was turning onto Killis Murphy Road from Highway 17, and a second vehicle was stopped behind that first vehicle waiting for it to turn. They say that's when a third vehicle slammed into the second car and caused a chain reaction. Troopers say the driver of the third car is facing a charge.

All the injured were taken to the hospital. The injuries are not expected to be life threatening.
