Seven Injured In Rocky Mount School Bus Accident

Seven people were injured this afternoon when police say an out of control car struck a school bus in Rocky Mount.

The accident happened around 3:40 p.m. in the 900 block of Jeffreys Road.

Bus number 316 from the Nash-Rocky Mount School System was transporting 28 students from Benvenue Elementary School when the accident happened. Two students were taken to Nash General Hospital for minor injuries, according to police. The three adults and two children in the car were also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say they are still investigating exactly what happened to cause the crash.
