Hagan Reports $3.6M Raised In 2nd Quarter For Senate Campaign

Democratic U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan's re-election operation has raised more money for the North Carolina fall campaign.

Hagan's campaign said Thursday she raised more than $3.6 million during the second quarter. The campaign said it will report to federal officials that it had more than $8.7 million in cash June 30.

Republican challenger Thom Tillis hasn't yet disclosed his campaign's three-month figures. Candidates must file reports with the Federal Election Commission by Tuesday.

Hagan reported raising $2.8 million for the first three months of the year and Tillis raised $1.3 million. Tillis had to spend more of his campaign money because he had a competitive primary.

The Hagan announcement came the same day the North Carolina chapter of Americans for Prosperity unveiled another television ad critical of the Greensboro Democrat.
