Department of Homeland Security officers were in the east Wednesday checking on those who boarded the state ferry system.
The annual drill was held at the Cherry Branch Ferry port.
Officers talked to drivers and passengers while others used mirrors on long sticks and the explosives dog to see if any car had anything suspicious on or underneath it.
The main objective is to keep the ferry system running safe and smoothly.
Stewart Campbell, who specializes in explosives, says in all the years they conducted these drills they have never found explosives in the east.
The only thing that officers found during their drill Wednesday was a man driving with a revoked license.
