Two Greenville schools were placed on modified lockdown after a student spotted a man with a gun nearby--the second time it's happened this year.
Greenville police say around noon a student at Wintergreen Intermediate School saw a man with a gun on his hip walking near the woodline behind the school. Spokeswoman Kristen Hunter says the man never approached the student.
A K-9 officer was nearby and within minutes began searching the area, but nothing was found.
School system spokesman Brock Letchworth says the intermediate school and the adjacent Wintergreen Primary School were both placed on modified lockdowns until about 1:15 p.m.
The same thing happened on March 19th, and like in today's case, police did not find anything.
