Saturday Mail Delivery To Continue For Now

Plans to cut Saturday mail pickups and deliveries has been delayed.

The U.S. Postal Service says Congress is no longer allowing the change.

Back in February, the postal service said starting in August, it planned to cut back to five-day-a-week deliveries for everything except packages, in order to hold down losses.

The agency's board of governors said Wednesday that Congress passed a spending bill that continues the long-time debate against reducing delivery days.

It's unclear how long the delay in switching to five day delivery will be, but for now, you can expect to receive and have mail picked up six days a week.
