Safe Bolted To Floor Removed From Salvation Army Store, $3,000 Lost

Another Greenville business has lost a safe during a break-in, but this one was not a "hole in the wall" burglary.

The Salvation Army Family Store on Dickinson Avenue was burglarized sometime between late Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.

Taken was a safe that was bolted to the floor. The charity says inside the 200 pound safe was about $3,000 which could feed over 30 families.

Police say the burglars managed to get in through a window in the warehouse area.

The Salvation Army believes who ever did this used to work or volunteer at the facility as they managed to avoid all surveillance cameras and motion detectors.
