STUDY: Carrying ADHD Into Adulthood

A third of children diagnosed with ADHD will still have the condition as adults.

Researchers at Boston Children's Hospital studied more than 200 adults who had been diagnosed with childhood ADHD. They found 29 percent still met the criteria for ADHD as adults. Over half had a another psychiatric disorder. The suicide rate was also higher among childhood ADHD patients.

The researchers say doctors should not view ADHD as a disorder only affecting kids, rather it could have lifelong implications.
